Inspire

"We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Thessalonians 1:2-3)

What is your "inspiration"?  What motivates you to get up and do the things you do each and every day?  Does your inspiration give you purpose, or does your purpose inspire you?

My family and friends inspire me to do many things - to work to become a better wife, mother, homemaker, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, mentor, teacher,etc...  However, are these wonderful people that I'm surrounded by on a daily basis enough to keep me motivated day in and day out?  Are they truly the "source" of my inspiration for living and loving?

As a Christian, I am inspired to live for Christ, and the Holy Spirit blesses me with patient endurance for living and loving and serving others while I'm waiting for His return, or for Him to call me home!

My family and friends are definitely blessings given to me by God, and I am hopeful that He uses me to bless them as well.  But unless we are serving one another and truly living by faith and love inspired by the hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, then it doesn't matter what we do - it is not built to last.  Only those acts inspired by the Holy Spirit, by our hope in Jesus, are worth living out while while we are waiting!
